Mustang GT 500 by happienoodleboy Mustang GT 500 by happienoodleboy
This is pretty much the finished version of the mustang I had been working on. In all I'd say it took me maybe 20 to 22 hours to do.

I'd love to hear what you have to say about it so please don't be shy and leave some comments/critiques for me :D

Em, I don't really know of any tutorials, it's all just practice practice practice though i do recall there are a couple of good videos on youtube that could be of help. If only i could remember hwat they were, i watched thme years ago lol I work by outlining everything first, the body shapes, the parts the where the shadows and highlights will be, i usualy use differnt stroke widths to denote between shadow highlight and bodyshape. then i add the colour adn finial the shadows and highlights and finally i add in small details if needed and a background of some kind, gradient mesh for the win! Illustrator is a pwerful program :) Also make sure you use layers for the differtn parts of the car like the tyers, the main body and the interior. You'll end up with so many shapes it makes life a lot easier. The best thing you can really do is practice, your first try probably won't live up to your expectations but you have to keep trying and refining your style till you end up with something you like

I like how you added in the white stripes on the bottom. And the car's not too bad either. ;)

nice work, i think i'll try something a little more advanced like this. I've pretty much complicated the simple line art stuff, its time for color and rendering!

Gotta love the Mustang. Sweet vektor man, looks very "A Scanner Darkly".

I did a version of a sixty nine Mustang for a logo I did ages ago that I had in scraps until I saw yours. Just put it up properly now and would love your opinion. here it is: [link]

This is really, REALLY good work! Did you take the points off a model or did you make it from looking at one? I don't really understand vectors, but if you want to print something on a T-shirt you make the points off your photo, is it sort of like that? Anyway I love the colour, red is always fab. :)

What kind of car do you think you'd want?

by the way, I don't have a car at all, I just take the train. I'd love to have one of those old steam locomotives, or a vespa :P
